I have a new favorite brand for Equestrian-inspired streetwear: Joules. If you’re like me and want to give a nod to your horsey passion, even when you’re not in riding clothes, you will want to check out the lineup Joules has to offer.

Joules had a strong display of beautiful riding vests, Wellies and other British-y items at the Breeders’ Cup this year and a hefty 25% discount so I indulged. Read on to get my impressions of three new Joules wardrobe items I’ve acquired in the last month. At the time of this writing they have a 30-50% discount going on for Black Friday/Cyber Monday, with some of the items on sale having an additional 10% off! Lots of good savings for you (and each photo is clickable so you can shop).

Joules Rain Boots

Enter the Joules Green Fox Wellies. I wore them when my SoCal weather report called for rain–which was actually just 8 hours of on and off drizzle. Being mostly on my feet as a teacher, I realized mid-day during their debut that the foot bed on these rain boots were actually more comfortable than my Hunter Wellies. And they are warmer! Also, they had a little more cushion than my Hunters and I didn’t feel like I was clomping around at all.

According to the tag I snipped off the Wellies, the bottoms of the boots were inspired by car tire design for effective water dispersal and grip. They are neoprene lined for warmth and comfort too (that explains why they are warmer than my Hunters).

Fox Sweater

The item I was most excited to receive was this fox sweater, the Miranda Crew Neck Instarsia Sweater. I’ve worn it twice now and have received compliments galore. Another bonus is that it washed well–gentle cycle and lay flat to dry. I wore this sweater with a turtleneck on a colder day and then without the next time. It looks great both ways.

The cute fox is raised up, almost like it has actual fur which makes for a nice texture. I liked that this sweater is light weight and easy for packing, as well as a good neutral color. I have paired it with both jeans and my black Botori tights. It was smashing both ways.

Chenille Sweater

My Joules chenille sweater is not at all horse themed, but it looked perfectly soft and cozy when I saw this picture on my laptop and I can attest having worn it multiple times that it is. Living in southern California, I don’t own many sweaters, so I was happy to add this Joules sweater to my wardrobe just in time for traveling to chilly Chicago for Thanksgiving. I ordered it in gold but it also comes in navy, cream and a bright, cheery red.

And in case you noticed a theme developing–one of foxes, you are on to something! I realized last week since I started fox hunting about a year ago that now I see foxes everywhere and I must have them. It started innocently with a pair of socks, but then led to a dress  with foxes all over it, now these Joules wellies and the sweater. I have turned into a crazy fox lady, and I couldn’t be more thrilled. Speaking of foxes, I went fox hunting outside of Chicago on Thanksgiving Day and it was a blast. Stay tuned for an update on my muddy Thanksgiving morning. Tally ho!

Thanks for reading and happy shopping!
