If you haven’t been part of the Monday #horsehour Twitter chat party, you have been missing out on new horsey friends across the “pond.”
For the last several months during my lunch break I have chimed in on the #horsehour Twitter chat that is hosted by friends I’ve yet to meet in the U.K.
A question starts the hour something to the effect of “To shoe or not to shoe? Are your horses shod? All fours?” Then Twitter users respond to the question and the fun begins.
We tweet questions to each other, find new Twitter peeps to follow, share pictures. It’s horse madness via social media.
I was thrilled to be asked to write a piece for the newly-launched #horsehour webpage and the subject that came to mind was #CalChrome (California Chrome). I believe he needs no introduction.
I tweeted California Chrome on Preakness Eve. Would you believe he tweeted me back? And he was funny. A humorous (and blazingly fast) horse. I know it wasn’t really a horse, but I have to admit I was fluttering all around as though I were in junior high and just got an autograph from members of my favorite boy band.
And that is when I realized I was fangirling over a horse. Thus, my blog post was born.
Have you ever fangirled over a horse? If you’re active on Twitter, have you ever participated in a horse-related Twitter chat? And if you’re not following me on Twitter or Instagram and would like to, check me out! Like us on Facebook too!
