I should be shopping for my family for Christmas gifts, but instead my most recent purchase was an ugly Christmas sweater with a horse on it. Well, not really a horse, but a unicorn. I HAD to have this beauty as there is an ugly Christmas sweater contest coming up at work and I want to win. It’s that simple.

If you’re over on Instagram you might have seen the red and white acrylic delight with the dancing unicorn with blazing red eyes and horn of which I speak. Quite honestly, I was surprised such a silly sweater garnered such positive responses from the Instagram crowd. In fact, people even inquired where such a grand item could be purchased. (Details on that one below.)

Apparently ugly is in!

So far I wore the sweater for a few hours the other day to give it a test run. And in that time I actually got a compliment from a cashier. My husband pointed out that if I’m getting compliments on it then it’s not technically doing its job of being an ugly Christmas sweater.

Now the sad news is that my ugly Christmas sweater is sold out, but if you are looking for something similar to wow your friends or wear to your barn party, there are a few other options. May I suggest these?

And in case you’re wondering about shipping at this late hour, Amazon Prime is a thing.

This smart little number also comes in green!

The name alone makes it desirable: SoRock Christmas Unicorn Burnout Holiday Hoodie.

And if you’re okay wearing men’s clothing, the closest thing to my sweater is this version.

Your Turn: So, do you have an ugly Christmas sweater in your closet? Tell us about it in the comments section. If you’re on Instagram show a picture of yourself in said sweater and tag @SaddleSeeksHorse so the ugly sweater love can grow!
